“Art Beyond Boundaries – Brazil: Diversities in Dialogue” (Arte Além das Fronteiras – Brasil: Diversidades em Diálogo) is an exhibition of Japanese painting at the Ivandro Cunha Lima Cultural Space of the Federal Senate of Brazil in Brasília. Co-organized by Instituto Sumi-e Brasil and the International Association of SUMI, the exhibition featured works by approximately 80 artists from 23 countries, including Japan and Brazil.

The exhibition also showcased a collection of works themed around Brazil’s six biomes. A special display featured a piece by Teiji Hayashi, the former Japanese Ambassador to Brazil.

A video message from President Tohun Kobayashi was presented, and the opening ceremony welcomed numerous guests, including Japanese Ambassador Yasushi Noguchi, Senator Damares Alves, and figures from cultural and government circles. It is hoped that this venue for cultural exchange will serve as a bridge between Brazil and Japan, helping to spread Sumi-e to even more people in Brazil.
